Gamers and music fans unite! Thanks to our friends at Nintendo, you can now stream music from Rhapsody through your Wii U console.

Starting today, Rhapsody’s personalized music experience is available to Wii U owners via a free app from the Nintendo eShop. Rhapsody subscribers with Wii U systems can begin listening immediately and Wii U owners who aren’t yet Rhapsody or Napster subscribers can sign up for a 30-day free trial.

“We know that close to 91 percent of all Americans listen to music more than 24 hours a week,” Ethan Rudin, Chief Financial Officer, Rhapsody International said. “We’re honored to partner with Nintendo to bring music to Wii U users, and continue Rhapsody’s goal of making it easy for people to listen to the music they love wherever they are.”

The Wii U GamePad controller’s touch screen can be used to access hundreds of curated radio stations by genre, artist, theme or mood, as well as Rhapsody playlists created by Rhapsody’s group of resident music experts. Wii U users can access their library of favorite tracks and personal playlists, created in the Rhapsody apps for smartphones and tablets or online.

To celebrate we created this fun playlist with our take on some gaming classics.
